About
My Fashion Story
I am a Fashion Educator at City College of San Francisco. Since 2018, I have taught Traditional & Digital Fashion Illustration, Contemporary Fashion History, Fashion Portfolio, & a Fashion Careers class.
My fashion journey began in 3 places. Behind the scenes, I started off in home textiles in 2003 with an internship @ Team Henderson Incorporated (TH.Inc!) doing production design, then went on to do home textile packaging design for Keeco LLC in 2004.
In retail, I have been a visual merchandiser for William Sonoma, United Colors of Benetton & it's sister brand Sisley.
As a designer, I have sewn & sold accessories to local boutiques like Sui Generis and online my Etsy is doing better than ever. I also create costumes for private customers as well as theater shows.
I have worked as wardrobe assistant at The Hypnodrome theatre, styled & done makeup for music videos & performances as well as done some personal styling and closet design.
I first started fashion illustrating live before audiences at the De Young Museum for the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit in 2012, and went on to draw at special events for Bloomingdales, Desigual, Genentech and I even taught a free fashion illustration class @ Apple Computers for "Today at Apple" using their newest iPad.
My fashion illustration book The Hard-Femme Ex-Men was published in 2017 and I held the panel discussion, Homo Superior: Queering Comics, Costumes as Drag & Gender Equality at Stan Lee's Comic Book Convention in Venice, CA in 2018 & I spoke at the Geeks & Glamazons: Gender Bending in Comics panel at RuPaul’s Drag Con LA 2019.
